Workshop
The Ginkgo Mineral Society is looking for a suitable lapidary workshop. We have several machines for cutting, shaping, and polishing rocks. We just need a space to house them.

General shop fee $3.00 covers use of Genies, trim saws, slant lap, and small slab saw
Large slab saw $2.00 for each cut (the blade is very expensive to replace)
Grit for members $4.00 per pound for tumbling grits
Polish for members $7.00 per pound for tumbling polish

Members are available to provide instructions on the use of these machines on agreed-upon times.
Check out the Ginkgo Mineral Society Facebook page to see if/when the shop is open.

Slab saws are used to
slice rocks into 1/4" thick slabs.
This is a 10-inch slab saw.
This is an 18-inch slab saw
for cutting larger rocks.

Trimsaws are used to cut away
excess material before
grinding and shaping on a Genie
Genies are "all-in-one" types of
machine with six wheels for
grinding, shaping, and polishing
